Prestigiosa Universidad rusa entrega Doctorado Honoris Causa a científico cubano

El doctor Fidel Castro Díaz-Balart, asesor Científico del Consejo de Estado de Cuba, recibió hoy el título de Doctor Honoris Causa de la Universidad Lomonósov en ceremonia realizada en el Rectorado de ese centro ruso.

En el acto de investidura, el rector, Víctor Sadovnichy, ratificó la convicción del Consejo Científico de la institución de reconocer a un físico formado en ese plantel, con una obra integrada al conocimiento universal “que nos enorgullece”.

Sadovnichi y otras personalidades destacaron la trayectoria del investido, caracterizada por su coherencia tanto en el pregrado y durante el doctorado en Física Nuclear en el Instituto Kurchatov, de Moscú, como después en Cuba, donde ha realizado importantes aportes, dijeron.

El matemático Iván Melnikov, primer vicepresidente de la Duma estatal (cámara baja parlamentaria) y miembro del Consejo Científico de la Lomonósov, resaltó el simbolismo de que medio siglo atrás ese plantel confiriera el Honoris Causa al líder histórico de la Revolución cubana, Fidel Castro.

Al recordar ese acontecimiento, rendimos tributo a una amistad imperecedera con un pueblo que pese a un bloqueo de más de 50 años por parte de Estados Unidos ha sido capaz de resistir y desarrollar una educación y una ciencia reconocidas en todo el mundo, subrayó.

Castro Díaz-Balart expresó que acepta el Honoris Causa como un deber y sobre todo con humildad, porque representa un reconocimiento no a los servicios personales.

Pienso en este momento en quienes con firmeza y convicción creyeron en el futuro y dedicaron su vida a buscar altos indicadores en materia de conocimientos, añadió.

Constituye una satisfacción y un honor sentirse parte del profesorado de esta universidad prestigiosa que hizo posible mi formación y toda la experiencia adquirida para doctorarme, así como la preparación de otros profesionales cubanos, expresó.

Resaltó que desde 1959 hasta hoy en Cuba la permanente ayuda del Estado permitió desarrollar una política científica, obtener resultados significativos en educación, salud, desarrollar un capital humano y crear una infraestructura en ciencia y tecnología.

Espacios prioritarios para esta esfera constituyen las condiciones surgidas después del VI Congreso del Partido Comunista de Cuba y ratificadas en los Lineamientos de la Política Económica y Social dentro del nuevo modelo asumido por la economía del país, indicó.

Precisó que la ciencia y la tecnología resultan clave en la construcción del futuro de una nación con escasez de recursos energéticos, tendencia al envejecimiento y reducción de la natalidad.

Recordó las palabras del líder histórico de la Revolución cubana al recibir el Honoris Causa en Ciencias Jurídicas, cuando advirtió que al concluir la etapa de las revoluciones sociales vendrá una batalla infinita frente a las fuerzas de la naturaleza.

En esa contienda vencerá la ciencia, concluyó Castro Díaz-Balart.
