Güines estará representado en proximo mundial de judo.

Güines, Mayabeque, Cuba_ La provincia de Mayabeque cuenta con un representante masculino en el Campeonato Mundial de Judo de ambos sexos, que se efectuará del 25 al 31 de este mes en la Arena Traktor de la ciudad de Chelíabinsk, Rusia.

Se trata del güinero Janier Peña Relova, monarca vigente de la división de 60 kilogramos, quien tras una ausencia de casi tres años alejado del deporte a causa de una lesión en la rodilla, volvió por sus fueros después de ser intervenido quirúrgicamente y este año recuperó su condición de primera figura en la preselección élite nacional.

En su primera prueba de fuego compitiendo oficialmente ante rivales de buen nivel, en marzo pasado Janier no solo se tituló Campeón Nacional invicto en Santiago de Cuba, sino que fue seleccionado el Más Destacado del certamen.

Ello le abrió nuevamente las puertas del Equipo Nacional y como tal representó a nuestro país en los Campeonatos Panamericanos realizados en Guayaquil, Ecuador, donde logró una meritoria medalla de bronce individual y plata por equipos.

Más tarde intervino en el Grand Prix Mundial celebrado en La Habana donde se ubicó séptimo, pero consiguió importantes victorias sobre judocas del área que presuntamente serán sus rivales en los Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe de Veracruz, México, programados para celebrarse en noviembre próximo.

Los especialistas que dirigen el judo varonil cubano le dieron el voto de confianza y fue incluido en la escuadra que nos representará en la cita universal que se avecina.

Desde principios de este mes junto al resto del equipo, Janier viajó hacia Francia para realizar prolongada base de entrenamientos y posibles confrontaciones, en busca de la preparación físico-técnica que les permita llegar a la justa de Chelíabinsk en óptima forma deportiva.

La escuadra varonil de la mayor de las Antillas dirigida por el experimentado entrenador Justo Noda se trasladará este sábado hacia la sede del evento en Rusia. Se conoció que el güinero hará su debut mundialista compitiendo en la jornada inaugural el lunes 25.

Completan el equipo Gilberto Solar (66), Magdiel Estrada (73), José Armenteros (100) y en más de 100 Oscar Brayson, medallista de bronce en la Olimpiada de Beijing.
La mejor carta del judo cubano actual, Asley González, campeón mundial de los 90 kilogramos, acompaña a la comitiva pero no competirá hasta su total recuperación.

Cuba ocupa el cuarto lugar en el cuadro histórico de medallas obtenidas en lides mundialistas con un total de 69 (17-18-34), solamente superada por potencias universales como Japón, Francia y Sudcorea.
