La importancia de extender el bioprocesamiento continuo por las ventajas que ofrece en las producciones biotecnológicasresaltó en Camagüey durante la segunda jornada del primer Congreso BioProcess 2017.

Parrish Galliher, director de tecnología para el bioprocesamiento Upstream de la compañía farmacéutica y fabricante de equipos médicos GE Healthcare, de Estados Unidos, explicó en su conferencia que la producción continua favorece el rápido crecimiento de las células y su densidad para la obtención de los productos, reduce los costos, la toxicidad y los daños al medio ambiente.

En declaraciones a la ACN aseguró que el país dispone en sus instalaciones hospitalarias de anticuerpos monoclonales para el tratamiento de tumores malignos en el esófago, el cerebro y otras localizaciones, y en estos momentos se investiga para su posterior aplicación en los de las mamas, el colon y la próstata.

El Congreso Bioprocess tiene como principal objetivo el intercambio entre científicos, especialistas, ingenieros, académicos y estudiantes cuyo quehacer esté relacionado con el diseño de procesos biotecnológicos.
