La noticia era esperada, pero no por eso resultó menos disfrutable: el Gran Maestro Leinier Domínguez Pérez, el mejor ajedrecista de Iberoamérica, oficialmente entró en el Top-10 del ranking mundial de ajedrez, en el que apareció en la décima posición, con  ELO de 2768 puntos.
