Próximo a su II edición en Cuba el Festival Ellas Crean

La Habana acogerá entre el 11 y el 18 de octubre el Festival Ellas Crean, una jornada cuyo centro es la obra artística hecha por mujeres.

Auspiciado, entre otras organizaciones, por la Embajada de España en Cuba y con el apoyo del Ministerio de Cultura, el Festival tiene –en esta, su edición– el propósito de trascender su marco y lograr multiplicar efectos más allá de este. Por esa razón, ha potenciado en su programa los talleres y los encuentros teóricos.

Urbanismo, gastronomía, negocios, lenguaje, restauración, arquitectura… son algunos de los temas propuestos, atravesados todos por el enfoque de género. Por supuesto, como en la edición anterior, las manifestaciones artísticas en su diversidad tendrán una importante representación.

En conferencia de prensa en el Teatro del Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Pablo Plata, consejero cultural de la embajada española, comentó que, en términos de género, “muchas veces nos vamos solo por el camino de hablar desde una perspectiva negativa: denunciar las discriminaciones, las desigualdades…; que, sin duda es algo que hay que seguir haciendo, pero pretendemos darle la vuelta a ese concepto y poner en valor lo que una mujer puede hacer”.

La cita comienza con una pre inauguración el sábado 11 de octubre a las 3:00 pm en el cine de 23 y 12, con la proyección del documental La hora dorada, de Ingrid León. La gala inaugural será en el propio teatro de Bellas Artes con un recital de poesía.

Reina María Rodríguez, Broselianda Hernández, Susana Haug, Danae Diéguez, Lizt Alfonso, Laura de la Uz, son algunas de las artistas cubanas que tendrán un espacio en la jornada.

De manera especial, se realizará la primera gran retrospectiva de cineastas cubanas. De acuerdo con Luciano Castillo, crítico de cine y director de la Cinemateca de Cuba, “siempre se han hecho pequeñas retrospectivas, la obra de (solo) una cineasta…” Se tratará de la primera vez que una muestra integre no solamente la producción del ICAIC, sino creaciones independientes.

La muestra se extenderá desde el sábado 11 hasta el domingo 19 en el cine Riviera y comienza con La rumba en televisión (1950), la primera película cubana donde aparece una mujer con crédito de directora: Evelia Onofre; y va hasta el corto La ventana, producción de 2014. Asimismo, se realizará un homenaje a Sara Gómez en el 40 aniversario de su muerte.

Cuenta la retrospectiva un total de 35 realizadoras y 43 títulos, de ficción y de animación. La curaduría ha tenido en cuenta generaciones, tendencias y la mayor representatividad posible de la mujer tras las cámaras.

Ellas Crean es la edición en Cuba del festival homónimo que se celebra cada año en España desde 2004.
