Olimpiada Mundial de Ajedrez, féminas triunfan, varones empatan

En la Olimpiada Mundial de Ajedrez que tiene por sede a la ciudad de Oslo, Noruega, el jaque perpetuo en 42 lances propició la partición del punto entre Radoslaw Wojtaszek (2735) y el mayabequino Leinier Domínguez (2760). Mientras, en otra apertura de peón dama que eligió los cauces de la Defensa Eslava, Lázaro Bruzón (2664) pactó la paz en 32 lances contra Jan-Krysztof Duda (2576).

Tampoco hubo demasiada lucha en el empate vía Bogo-India entre Mateusz Bartel (2640) y Yuniesky Quesada (2649), que se dieron la mano luego de 41 movidas. Por último, Isán Ortiz (2603) debutó en la Olimpiada compartiendo la unidad con Bartosz Socko (2612), también en 41 de una Petrov. De esta forma el mach varonil Cuba-Polonia quedó empatado.

La noticia era esperada, pero no por eso resultó menos disfrutable: el Gran Maestro Leinier Domínguez Pérez, el mejor ajedrecista de Iberoamérica, oficialmente entró en el Top-10 del ranking mundial de ajedrez, en el que apareció en la décima posición, con  ELO de 2768 puntos.

En otros momentos   Domínguez, el ídolo de Güines, había estado entre los 10 primeros, pero del ranquing en vivo. Solo ahora queda reconocido de manera oficial, así que esta es otra formidable noticia para el ajedrez cubano y de Güines.

Leinier aumentó su coeficiente en 11,3 unidades, gracias a su brillante actuación con el club San Petersburgo en la Liga rusa por equipos. Allí el cubano ganó cuatro partidas, entabló dos y no inclinó su rey.

En el listado, que fue dado a conocer como es habitual un día antes del inicio de un nuevo mes, al oriundo de la provincia cubana de Mayabeque, no le  fue computado el Memorial Gashimov, pero si la FIDE hubiera incluido los resultados de ese evento, nada habría cambiado para el cubano, porque en el ELO en vivo continúa en la décima plaza, aunque muy cerca de Sergey Karjakin (2771,7 por 2768,3) quien ocupa el noveno escaño.

Los competidores, todos hombres, harán su exhibición a una altura de 27 metros, desde una plataforma montada en el farallón a la entrada de la bahía habanera, consistente en una estructura de acero y aluminio que sobresaldrá siete metros de altura y unos ocho de saliente, para evitar riesgos, indicó Rolando Ruiz, comisionado nacional de clavados.

Entre los más destacados estarán el colombiano Orlando Duque, primer monarca del circuito en 2009 y campeón del orbe de deportes acuáticos en Barcelona 2013, donde se efectuó por vez primera esta modalidad.

Duque, a pesar de sus 38 años, es uno de los clavadistas extremos más emblemáticos del universo, pues atesora el título en la edición pionera de la Serie Mundial (2009) y los subcampeonatos del 2010 y 2012. Solo el fuera de serie británico Gary Hunt, capaz de eslabonar una cadena de títulos ininterrumpida desde el 2010 y puntero en la actual campaña con 780 rayas, le antecede. El colombiano, además, es miembro del comité técnico de la disciplina, y a finales de septiembre, tras consumarse la parada de Niteroi, Brasil, el día 28, viajará a La Habana junto a Pedreguera para impartir un taller sobre cliff diving.

Domínguez, con dos mil 757 puntos Elo, descansó el domingo por decisión de su elenco el San Petersburgo y se despidió con cinco rayas en seis presentaciones y rendimiento de 83,3 por ciento.

El Ídolo de Güines logró cuatro triunfos y par de tablas con excelente perfomance Elo de dos mil 921 y suma de 11,3 unidades, que deben oficializarse en mayo para colocarle en el puesto 10 del mundo. 

Sin embargo la felicidad del caribeño no pudo ser completa, pues su conjunto no pasó del empate 3-3 en la fecha del adiós frente al SHSM y tuvo que conformarse con el tercer puesto con 10 unidades, dos menos que el monarca.

Hace un año ese colectivo se llevó un primer lugar esquivo ahora, aunque le quedó el consuelo de asegurarse para el venidero torneo europeo.

Esa condición la compartió con el Malaquita y el SHSM, segundo con 11 rayas.

Individualmente, el único con mejores resultados que Leinier fue el ruso Alexander Grischuk (2 777), autor de cinco éxitos y par de igualadas, y perfomance de dos mil 982.

El mayabequense  llevó piezas negras en el tercer tablero del equipo San Petersburgo, y consiguió la victoria en 69 movimientos.

Este es el tercer éxito de Domínguez, único que logró imponerse por su equipo este viernes, y aportó en el empate de San Petersburg 3-3 con el representante de Universidad (Belorechensk).

Hasta el momento el ídolo de Güines es el tercer mejor jugador del certamen, con cuatro puntos de cinco posibles, en una lista que es dominada por el ruso Alexander Grischuk, jugador que defiende los colores del Malachite y el georgiano Baadur Jobava del Universidad.

El desenlace mantiene al cubano entre los 10 primeros del ranking universal "en vivo" al acumular dos mil 765,6 puntos ELO.

Por San Petersburgo, el local Peter Svidler cayó ante Jobava, mientras que los restantes jugadores consiguieron tablas ante sus respectivos oponentes.
