Güines festeja oro de Lianna en Barranquilla

Güines,Mayabeque, Cuba _ La güinera Lianna de la Caridad Montero Herrera no creyó en el mayor y mejor palmarés de su contrincante, la puertorriqueña Nes Marie Rodríguez y la derrotó 6 puntos a 1 en la final de la lucha libre para damas y titularse monarca de la división de los 57 kg.
Lianna salió decidida al área de lucha y no le dio respiro a la boricua hasta que finalizó el combate. De esa forma aportó la segunda presea dorada de la tarde y contribuyó a que Cuba se titulara en la lucha Centroamericana y del Caribe.
Con fecha de nacimiento 21 de enero de 1998 incursiona desde el 2016 en eventos internacionales. En febrero de ese año en la ciudad estadounidense de Frisco participó en el campeonato panamericano y logró la medalla de bronce en los 53 kg.
En junio del 2017, participó en el Campeonato Femenino Panamericano Juvenil de lucha, en Lima, Perú. Allí alcanzó la corona en los 55 kilogramos. El evento contó con 55 atletas de 14 países.
En agosto del 2017 se agenció medalla de plata también en los 55 kg en el Campeonato Mundial juvenil de Tampere, Finlandia. Montero acuñó un cuarteto de triunfos antes de ceder 4-6 en la final a manos de la japonesa Sae Nanjo. La caribeña inició la competencia con dominio de 9-4 sobre la china Jing Liang.
Luego dispuso 12-2 de la turca Elif Yanik, blanqueó 10-0 en cuartos de finales a la india Pooja Gehlot y aseguró el segundo escaño con balance de 4-3 a costa de la rusa Viktoriia Vaulina. Ya en la discusión del cetro Nanjo terminó por quedarse con la alegría mayor, pero ello no restó méritos a un desempeño que aportó el segundo premio de luchadoras de la isla en un evento mundial de cualquier categoría.
Lianna compitió en el certamen del orbe para atletas menores de 23 años, en la categoría juvenil y de mayores que posibilitará el desarrollo de los novatos en el ámbito internacional dirigida por Alexis Estrabao. El resultado final fue el subtítulo en los 66 kg.
En Frisco, Estados Unidos, se vistió de bronce continental. El coliseo de la Ciudad Deportiva capitalina es testigo de múltiples batallas suyas con homólogas canadienses y de Estados Unidos, como la multimedallista del orbe Helen Maroulis.
