Celebran periodistas de Mayabeque Día de la Prensa Cubana

 Güines, Mayabeque, Cuba - El aniversario 122 de la creación del Periódico “Patria” por José Martí, será conmemorado por los periodistas de la provincia de Mayabeque el venidero 14 de marzo. En igual fecha de 1892 se publica el primer número para, como escribió el Apóstol “juntar y amar, y para vivir en la pasión de la verdad".

En el acto central se entregará la distinción Félix Elmusa, máxima condecoración que otorga la Presidencia de la Unión de Periodistas de Cuba (UPEC), a profesionales del sector, nacionales o extranjeros, que hayan obtenido méritos para ello. Otro grupo de afiliados será reconocido con la Moneda conmemorativa 50 Aniversario de la UPEC teniendo en cuenta su permanente y destacado accionar en la organización, mientras tanto,  tres jóvenes que laboran en diferentes medios de comunicación recibirán el carne que los acredita como miembros del gremio.

Con anticipación se reconoció la labor de jóvenes del sector que realizan actividades de dirección, a todas las féminas que poseen responsabilidades dentro de la UPEC y a jefes de  órganos de prensa que sobresalen por el apoyo a las acciones de la organización de los periodistas cubanos en la provincia.

En jornada más reciente y en correspondencia con el Plan de Actividades aprobado por la Presidencia Nacional, se efectuó un tope de softbol en la municipalidad de Güines, entre el equipo que representa a los Medios Nacionales y Los Vaqueros, conformado por periodistas de Mayabeque y Artemisa. Se realizaron dos juegos con un triunfo per cápita.

En el primer partido  con sede en los terrenos de la Empresa Azucarera Amistad con los Pueblos, de Güines, provincia de Mayabeque, el actual titular de la Liga, el conjunto que integran representantes de los medios nacionales, vencieron en siete entradas a los Vaqueros de Mayabeque-Artemisa, subtitulares, 9 carreras por 5.

El juego lo ganó Sergio Gómez y lo perdió Reinaldo Fuentes. A la ofensiva destacaron Jorge Javier Miranda, por los anfitriones y Yosmer Pérez, por los visitantes, ambos con sendos cuadrangulares.

En el segundo partido pactado a cinco entradas los vaqueros de Mayabeque-Artemisa salieron en busca de la revancha. Racimo de 10 carreras en la parte baja del segundo inning devino cifra inalcanzable para los softbolistas de los medios nacionales. El resultado final fue un supernocao de 21 carreras por 2.

El pichert ganador fue Alejandro Medina y el perdedor Joao Fariñas. A la ofensiva destacaron los vaqueros Jorge Javier Miranda con dos jonrones y Pablo Alfonso, quien en tres oportunidades al bate conectó dos hits.

Comienza Campaña de vacunación antipolio en Cuba

 Desde que La Habana emprendió la primera de estas acciones hasta la fecha, se aplicaron más de 83 millones de dosis del inmunógeno, con lo cual la población menor de 68 años está protegida, indicó al diario Granma, Miguel Ángel Galindo, asesor del Programa Nacional de Inmunización del Ministerio de Salud Pública.

Cuba fue la primera nación de América Latina en erradicar la poliomielitis. Pero no solo esta dolencia desapareció del cuadro sanitario nacional, también otras enfermedades infecciosas, como el paludismo, la tosferina, rubéola, tétanos neonatal, difteria, sarampión, síndrome de rubéola congénita y meningoencefalitis posparotiditis.

Rockeros cubanos actuarán en México y Europa

Ese CD -añadió- deberá estar listo en abril y será promocionado durante las actuaciones por América y naciones europeas.

Al referirse a otros proyectos mencionó que se está editando un DVD el cual compila lo sucedido durante la gira nacional junto a COR y será distribuido en varios continentes.

Los músicos cubanos incorporan al repertorio la plena boricua y otros elementos del contexto latinoamericano, unido a las bases del son, el guaguancó y la música electrónica, estilo definido como metal mestizo o etno metal.

Tendencia canta a las luchas independentistas en Cuba, contra la presencia militar estadounidense en la base naval de Guantánamo (oriente de la isla), así como a favor del medio ambiente y la especie humana, en tiempos de crisis mundial.

La Charanga Aragón, nombre inicial de la orquesta, fue fundada en el año 1939 en la ciudad cubana de Cienfuegos por Orestes Aragón.

Desde sus comienzos, se ha destacado por sus interpretaciones en los géneros caribeños de la charanga y el chachachá.

Han pertenecido a la famosa orquesta cantantes como Benny Moré (1919-1963) y Dámaso Pérez Prado (1916-1989), así como el trompetista Félix Chapotín (1907-1983).

Señor Douma, esta será su segunda visita a Cuba como conductor de un coro de la Universidad de Yale: ¿Cuáles fueron sus impresiones de Cuba y los cubanos la vez anterior?

Ante todo, me impresionó mucho el canto coral. Cuba es un país musical, por lo que esperaba que fueran excelentes, pero son algunos de los mejores coros que haya yo escuchado en cualquier parte del mundo.  El calor y la generosidad de las personas que conocí también me causaron una gran impresión.

Si, desde ese momento hemos cantado parte del repertorio que aprendimos aquí, El Bodeguero, por ejemplo, y siempre han gozado de una gran acogida tanto por los artistas como por el público.

Choir Director Yale Glee Club talks about his upcoming trip to Cuba

Política del gobierno de los Estados Unidos hacia Cuba impide que Sharon Stone viaje a la isla

Es noticia en decenas de medios internacionales –especialmente de la “prensa rosa”- el litigio legal entre la conocida actriz norteamericana Sharon Stone y su productor Bob Yari (1). La raíz del conflicto es el rodaje de la película “Papá”, sobre el escritor Ernest Hemingway, en la que la actriz fue elegida para interpretar el papel de Mary Welsh, la esposa del escritor.

El problema surgió en los preparativos del rodaje de varias escenas en Cuba, país en el que residió Hemingway parte de su vida. La actriz acusa al productor de obligarla a falsificar documentos para conseguir que el Gobierno de Estados Unidos autorizara su viaje a la Isla.

Recordemos que EE.UU. prohíbe a su ciudadanía viajar a Cuba, más aún para rodar una película, que sin duda dejaría ingresos en el país (2). Pero, en los últimos años, el actual Gobierno de Barack Obama sí está autorizando algunos viajes de carácter cultural y académico (3). Al parecer, el productor Bob Yari quiso camuflar el viaje de Sharon Stone bajo una de estas figuras legales. La actriz se negó a correr el riesgo y perdió el papel en la película, pero ahora reclama en tribunales el medio millón de dólares de su contrato.

Los medios se centran en las acusaciones mutuas entre actriz y productor, y en otros detalles del caso. Pero, curiosamente, pasan por encima de un asunto esencial: ¿por qué una ciudadana de EE.UU., el “país de la libertad”, tiene prohibido viajar a otro que se encuentra a menos de 90 millas?

Las diferentes versiones de las notas de agencia, publicadas en decenas de medios, mencionan, efectivamente, “prohibiciones (de viaje) existentes” (4) o la “prohibición que existe sobre ciudadanos estadounidenses de trasladarse a la isla” (5). Pero en muy pocas se puntualiza qué gobierno es el que ejerce dicha prohibición. No sería de extrañar que, producto de los prejuicios creados durante años, como lluvia fina, por esos medios, muchas personas llegaran a creer que es el Gobierno cubano –y no el de EEUU- el que impide entrar a su territorio a la actriz.

Una manera habitual de camuflar la responsabilidad del Gobierno de EE.UU. en la violación del derecho a viajar es apelar al conflicto histórico entre ambos gobiernos. “Cuba y los viajes desde Estados Unidos siguen siendo un asunto espinoso”, leíamos en el diario español El Mundo (6). “Los problemas entre Cuba y Estados Unidos siguen siendo un asunto complicado”, leíamos en otro medio dedicado a las celebrities televisivas (7). Todo para explicar que es EE.UU. quien prohíbe a su población viajar a Cuba mientras, desde la Isla, se promueve por todas las vías el acercamiento cultural y el turismo norteamericano, generador de divisas (8).

La revista del corazón “Quien” aseguraba que “no es la primera vez que famosos se ven envueltos en polémica por viajes realizados a la isla caribeña” (9). Su explicación no podía ser más kafkiana: debido a “un bloqueo diplomático sostenido por más de 50 años entre Estados Unidos y Cuba, cualquier estadounidense puede buscarse problemas legales por ingresar a la isla, y viceversa”. Es decir: que el bloqueo económico de 60 años que sufre el pueblo cubano no está impuesto por el Gobierno de EE.UU., sino que es un “bloqueo” mutuo entre los dos países. Increíble.

Curiosamente, el único medio que ha llamado a las cosas por su nombre ha sido Martí Noticias, medio creado por la Casa Blanca para su guerra informativa contra Cuba. Ahí leíamos, con total claridad, que la supuesta falsificación de documentación de Sharon Stone tenía por objetivo mentir “sobre las razones del viaje para recibir el permiso por parte del gobierno de Estados Unidos” (10).
